Flour is made from grains

Oat flour is prepared by grinding the grains and fractionating them. Flour contains all the biologically important components of the cereal. Suitable for making sauces and using as a batter component.

Flour is present in many skin care products. It contains a number of protective substances that have a beneficial effect on the treatment of skin itching, irritation, and unpleasant symptoms of eczema.

Recipe for making oatmeal jelly from oat flakes

Ingredients

Oat flakes ground into flour100 g
Boiled or filtered water at room temperature800 ml
Vegetable oil or buttertaste
Additives in the form of salt, honey, raisins, nutstaste

How to choose the right ingredients

  • An important requirement when choosing the main elements for preparing this dish will be the use of the most ordinary, natural flakes as a base ingredient.
  • It is oats, which have not undergone various forms of special processing, that contain the very substances, trace elements and vitamins that give the drink such beneficial healing properties.

Step-by-step preparation of oatmeal jelly from oat flakes

  1. Grind the oatmeal into flour using a blender. Measure out 100 g of ground flakes with a glass and place them in a container with a volume of up to 1 liter.

  2. Fill them with 800 ml of boiled or filtered water at room temperature, mix well and close with a lid.

  3. Leave the mixture to ferment overnight for at least 6 hours.

  4. In the morning, after thoroughly mixing the fermented mass, strain it through a sieve.

  5. Wash 2 more times with a small amount of water, carefully separating the starch.

  6. Place the ladle with the strained dish on the stove and cook it until the desired thickening, stirring constantly.

  7. Immediately remove it from the heat when the first bubbles appear on its surface.

  8. Cool and pour into portions. We diversify the serving by adding salt, honey, raisins, nuts or anything else at your discretion.

Oats are a storehouse of antioxidants

Grains, flakes and flour are characterized by a high content of antioxidants and beneficial plant substances, polyphenols. Most notable is a unique group of antioxidants, avenanthramides, found exclusively in this grain.

Helps lower blood pressure by increasing the formation of nitric oxide. This molecule promotes vasodilation, which leads to improved blood flow. Avenanthramides also have anti-inflammatory and antipruritic effects.

Grains and cereals contain a high percentage of soluble fiber, β-glucan. It partially dissolves in water, forming a dense gel-like solution in the intestines.

The health effects of β-glucan include:

  1. Reducing cholesterol.
  2. Reduced glycemia.
  3. Increased feeling of satiety.
  4. Increases the growth of good bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.

Coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world. One of the primary risk factors is high blood cholesterol. Studies have shown that β-glucan is effective in lowering total and LDL cholesterol. β-glucan fiber increases bile secretion of cholesterol, thereby reducing its level in the circulating blood.

Reducing cholesterol is very important because excess cholesterol causes inflammation of the arteries, tissue damage, and increases the risk of heart and brain diseases.

When cholesterol reacts with free radicals, bad LDL cholesterol is oxidized, which is another step towards the development of heart disease.

Type 2 diabetes is a disease characterized by a significant increase in glycemia. Usually, we are talking about the result of decreased sensitivity to insulin.

Oatmeal jelly will help reduce sugar levels, especially in people who are overweight or with type 2 diabetes, and improve insulin sensitivity.

These effects are attributed to the ability of β-glucan to form a dense gel, which slows gastric emptying and absorbs glucose in the blood.

Option No. 1 – classic

This is an old Russian recipe for oatmeal jelly. To prepare it you need:

  • 200-300 g of flakes;
  • some black bread (a small crust is enough);
  • 1/2 liter of water;
  • salt.

Boil and cool the water slightly (it should be warm). Pour over the cereal. Leave in a warm place for 2 days, stirring occasionally. After 2 days, strain through a colander, discard the cake, bring the liquid to a boil, add salt, stir.

Kissel can be prepared from rolled oats - the recipe is similar.

Option No. 2 – Dr. Izotov’s jelly

Now let's look at a step-by-step recipe for preparing oatmeal jelly according to Izotov. This recipe is more complex, but its medicinal properties cannot be overestimated!

The whole process consists of 3 stages:

  • fermentation;
  • filtration;
  • final processing.

It takes 3-4 days to prepare.

  • 400 g of flakes;
  • 5 tbsp. whole oats;
  • 2.5 liters of water at room temperature (boiled);
  • 1/2 cup kefir;
  • a crust of black bread.

Place bread, cereal, grains, kefir in a glass jar (3 liters) and fill with water. Stir, close. The jar should not be full to the top! Leave in a warm place (30-32°C) for 2 days.

Collect the bread floating on top, strain the liquid through a colander - you get a highly acidic filtrate (about 2 l). Pour it into a clean jar.

Rinse the remaining cake over the pan with 1 liter of boiled warm water - you get a low-acid filtrate. Pour it into a jar. Leave both jars to steep for 18 hours.

The filtrates are divided into 2 layers. Carefully pour off the top layer (this is kvass). Don't throw it away. Drain off the remaining concentrates separately.

Now let's start the cooking process itself and see how to cook thick oatmeal jelly.

Mix the concentrate with kvass (3 tbsp/250 ml). Stirring, bring to a boil. The jelly will begin to thicken after 5 minutes. Cook until desired thickness.

For taste you can add salt, dried fruits, oil...

The videos show step by step the preparation of jelly according to Izotov.

Oatmeal jelly Izotov

Kissel Izotova is a medicinal product that has a strengthening and anti-inflammatory effect on the body.

The drink is prepared as follows:

  1. Prepare 3 cups of rolled oats and 8 tablespoons of large oats.
  2. Pour the prepared flakes into a large jar, fill everything with water so that the container is half filled.
  3. Pour in half a glass of kefir for better fermentation.
  4. Cover the jar with a rubber glove and leave to infuse for a day. It is important that it is not exposed to direct sunlight, so it is better to send the workpiece to a dark, cool place.
  5. When bubbles appear on the surface of the water, you can start preparing the jelly.
  6. Using gauze, strain the workpiece and pour the resulting viscous liquid into a separate container.
  7. The workpiece must be left to ferment again. The optimal period is 20 hours.

After time has passed, the product can be poured into vessels and served. It is worth remembering that the finished drink can be stored in the refrigerator for no more than 3 days.

Option No. 4 – whole grain jelly

The oat jelly recipe is similar to the Izotov method, but a little simpler. You need:

  • 2 cups grains;
  • 2.5 liters of water (warm boiled);
  • 1/2 cup kefir.

Infuse the mixture of grain + water + kefir in a jar for 2 days. Strain through a colander. Rinse the pulp (rinse it in a saucepan, do not throw away the water). Combine both liquids in a clean jar. Leave it for a day. Then carefully drain the top layer, and cook the remaining concentrate to the desired thickness.

Options for making oatmeal jelly

In ancient times, natural oats were used, but it can be replaced with oatmeal, however, it is better to choose the coarsest grind, and then turn them into a finer substance by scrolling through a meat grinder or grinding in a coffee grinder.

Remembering that oatmeal jelly is medicinal, it is best to take it in the morning 3 hours before breakfast. When treating the stomach or other gastrointestinal organs, you should limit various additives as much as possible, for example, avoid salt, milk, honey, and herbs.

Normal way

This is a recipe according to which oatmeal jelly for the stomach is prepared quite quickly and simply, but at the same time retains most of the healing properties. You need to take half a kilo of oatmeal, pour 3 liters of boiled chilled water over it, and leave it overnight to swell. In the morning, strain the mixture through a colander, while pressing the swollen oats with a spoon so that the mucus is better removed. You can use rinsing the flakes with the liquid that comes off them, periodically scooping it out of the pan and pouring it back onto the oats.

The goal is to leave as little of the healing mucilage base on the flakes as possible. The solution needs to stand for several hours, and then strain it again, but through a strainer. After some time, there will be a layer of water on top, which should be poured into a separate container for later use during cooking.

Option No. 5 – for weight loss

β-glucan's ability to slow gastric emptying increases the feeling of fullness. β-glucan also promotes the release of peptide YY, a satiety hormone that reduces calorie intake and the risk of obesity. For weight loss purposes, use this oatmeal jelly, which, by the way, is the easiest to prepare. You need:

Pour the cereal into a saucepan and cover with water. There is no need to measure - the water should cover the raw material by 3 cm. Leave for 2 days. Then strain and bring the liquid to a boil. Once cooled, place in the refrigerator.

Use this useful product 100 ml 1-2 times a day.

Oatmeal jelly for children

Kissel in the form of complementary foods is introduced to babies from the age of six months. The drink should not be thick; only after 10 months can the jelly be prepared thicker.

Children up to one year old are allowed to give the drink 2 to 3 times a week. After a year, you can do it daily, but no more than once a day. As for portions, for children from one to 3 years old it is 100 - 150 ml, for children over 3 years old - 150 - 200 ml. It is best to offer children oatmeal jelly for lunch or an afternoon snack.

Liver cleansing

The liver is one of the most important organs of the body. It filters all harmful and toxic substances entering the body. Therefore, periodic cleansing is very important.

For liver health, you can consume both oatmeal jelly from oat grains and from flakes - depending on your desire. According to user reviews, jelly prepared according to Dr. Izotov’s recipe is most effective for detoxification.

Take 100 ml of it on an empty stomach for a month. After a month's break, repeat the cleansing.

Losing weight with oatmeal jelly

It is not difficult to cook jelly based on oatmeal. Therefore, a diet based on this product is very popular and helps to easily and quickly lose weight. To lose a few kilograms, it is enough to replace one meal for a month with a dish made from rolled oats or oatmeal.

Cook oats over low heat until thickened, then cool and eat fresh. It is not recommended to store this product, as it quickly loses its beneficial properties.

Such a dish will not do any harm, but there will be little benefit from it. Therefore, it is recommended to use oatmeal jelly for weight loss as soon as it cools down.

It’s not difficult to buy oatmeal, so if you stock up on this product and try several options for preparing this dish, including Dr. Izotov’s recipe, you will soon feel positive changes in your body.

Eliminate constipation

Modern people often suffer from constipation or intestinal motility disorders. Laxatives are commonly used to relieve constipation, but they are often ineffective and are associated with a number of side effects. Research shows that oatmeal jelly can eliminate this problem.

In one study, 30 patients consumed the healthy drink daily for 12 weeks. About 59% of these patients were able to stop using laxatives after 3 months.

The dosage indicated above is for an adult. For children under 7 years old, 1 tsp is enough, for children under 12 years old – 1 tbsp.

Finally

Oatmeal jelly is a universal drink suitable for all age groups. In addition to improving the immune system, it helps to cure a number of diseases, in particular, the gastrointestinal tract and pancreas.

Due to the high calorie content, caution should be exercised by obese people - there is a special recipe for them. In this case, compliance with the recommended amount of consumption plays an important role.

Oat jelly is a valuable drink in traditional Russian cuisine. And it is used not so much to quench thirst, but as a delicacy or a complete snack due to its satiety and thickness. But most importantly, oatmeal jelly, cooked from whole oats, is a healing remedy that has immunostimulating, tonic, and detoxifying properties. The drink is used to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and many other pathologies.

Oatmeal jelly according to Izotov

Virologist V.K. Izotov, relying on the ancient traditions of preparing oatmeal jelly, created his own unique recipe, which is intended specifically for the treatment of the gastrointestinal tract. This remedy, for example, copes well with ulcers. This oatmeal jelly is not prepared very quickly, but its effect is as therapeutic as possible, and based on a scientific approach to healing. Of course, the general health-improving effect of the drink is preserved.

Stage No. 1 – fermentation

You need to boil 3.5 liters of water, and then cool it to a temperature of 30-35 degrees, pour it into a 5-liter jar. Now you need to add 500 g of oatmeal to the water, as well as half a glass of kefir for the starter. The jar is closed with a lid, wrapped in paper, and left to ferment. It can be placed next to the battery. Ideally, it would be good to mix oatmeal with crushed natural oatmeal - just take 10 tbsp.

Fermentation lasts about 1.5-2 days. Signs will be the appearance of bubbles and separation of the mass. You should not let the jelly ferment - this will spoil its taste.

Stage No. 2 – filtration

For filtering, for example, an additional jar or a convenient container, as well as a colander, are used. It is best to take one with a hole diameter of 2 mm. Solid sediment will accumulate in the colander, which needs to be rinsed with cold water. Water is poured in small portions, but its total volume should be three times greater than the solid residue.

Stage No. 3 – processing of the liquid mixture

The drained mixture is left to settle for 18 hours. After this time, it will separate into a lighter and thicker lower part. The top layer is drained, and the bottom one is just a healing concentrate intended for making jelly, as well as new sourdough. To start the fermentation process in a suspension of oatmeal with water, only a couple of spoons of concentrate will be enough.

Stage No. 4 – storage

The concentrate transferred into convenient containers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 weeks.

Stage No. 5 - preparing jelly

To prepare healing jelly, take 5 to 10 tablespoons of concentrate, add 0.5 liters of cold water, and then cook it in the usual way with constant stirring. The amount of concentrate is determined by personal taste and the desired thickness of the final product.

Eating jelly according to Izotov every day instead of breakfast will not only bring relief from diseases of the stomach or other gastrointestinal tract organs, but will also get rid of them forever.
