Treatment of psoriasis at home without medications

Once upon a time, W. Churchill, suffering from psoriasis, promised the construction of a golden monument to someone who could find the specific causes of this disease and be able to cure it.

But until today such a person has not been found. However, there are many remedies for use at home that eliminate its manifestations for a long time.

What kind of disease is psoriasis?

This disease is characterized by a chronic course , it manifests itself as a rash in the form of spots, in which the skin is covered with flaky scabs and is incredibly itchy.

In this case, lymph nodes, joints, bones and muscles may be affected, causing neurological symptoms. Treatment consists of neutralizing irritating factors and eliminating the symptoms of the disease.

As a rule, this disease is not considered a skin disease, for the reason that the skin in this situation only reflects other health problems. But nevertheless, it is on the skin that characteristic and rather unpleasant symptoms appear that require elimination and treatment.

Psoriatic plaques on the head

Alternative medicine does not always allow you to completely get rid of psoriasis. Traditional methods are recommended for use as complex therapy. There are a large number of recipes that can reduce the number of psoriatic plaques located on the skin under the hair.

  1. 300 grams of celandine herb are crushed in a blender, 30 grams of red wine are added to the resulting juice. The finished mixture is applied to the localized spots of inflammation for 15 minutes. At the end of the manipulation, the head is washed with warm water.
  2. Peanut and olive oil are mixed in equal parts, the resulting mixture is applied with light massage movements before bedtime. Put a swimming cap on top. In the morning, the mask is washed off with a mixture of water and apple cider vinegar.
  3. A tablespoon of natural honey is mixed with one chicken egg and a large spoon of baby shampoo. The finished medicine is applied to the scalp, left for 15 minutes and washed off with warm water. The medication has an anti-inflammatory and wound-healing effect.
  4. Dry rosehip branches are burned, the ash is collected in a dry glass container. Cosmetic Vaseline is added to it - in a one to one ratio. The product is used as an ointment. Daily application allows you to see positive results after a week of therapy. The treatment quickly smears the hair, the head is washed daily with tar soap or specialized shampoos against psoriasis.
  5. A quarter cup of celandine herb is mixed with half a liter of ethyl alcohol. The prepared substance is kept for one hour and applied to the dermis under the hair. Experts warn that the medicine can provoke allergic reactions, irritation and obsessive itching. When primary symptomatic manifestations appear, it is necessary to wash off the substance and rinse your hair with infusion of chamomile.

For internal use, an infusion of black elderberry is used. A tablespoon of berries is poured into 450 ml of fresh boiling water and left for one hour. Take three times a day, half a tablespoon, an hour after meals.

Experts recommend adhering to certain rules, the observance of which is necessary when treating psoriasis under the hair:

  • only specialized shampoos are used to wash your hair - all other detergents can cause increased dryness of the skin;
  • Disinfection procedures are carried out daily in order to prevent the introduction of secondary infection into the epidermis;
  • do not use any combs other than those with natural bristles - hard teeth can injure the dermis and tear the bodies of psoriatic plaques;
  • It is not recommended to carry out procedures that can lead to trauma to the skin and exacerbation of psoriasis;
  • in case of exacerbation of the disease, it is prohibited to use a hair dryer, tongs and hair straightening irons;
  • in case of a complex course of the disease, it is recommended to cut the hair short to facilitate therapeutic measures.

Causes of the disease

This disease is an abnormal reaction of the body to the presence of external irritants. When it is present, pathologically rapid death of the upper layer occurs in some areas of the skin.

If normally skin cells mature in about a month, then with this pathology it takes up to 5 days.

Today, this disease is considered multifactorial.

Due to many possible reasons:

  • Immunological changes;
  • Violation of metabolic processes in the body;
  • Endocrine disorders.

At the moment, the exact causes of this disease have not been determined, but there are theoretical assumptions.

According to one of them, psoriasis is divided into two types:

  • Hereditary - genetic damage to the immune system - is the cause of this disease in approximately 65% of people who suffer from it. As a rule, this type of disease is observed in young people who have reached puberty at the age of 18 - 25 years;
  • It is not caused by genetic factors - in addition to skin lesions, this type of disease is characterized by symptoms in the form of damage to joints and nails. Most often it appears after reaching 40 years of age.

The second theory suggests that the cause of psoriasis is a disorder in the immune system.

These disorders can be caused by many different factors:

  • Stressful situations;
  • Sudden changes in climatic conditions;
  • Dietary errors, for example, consumption of alcoholic beverages, vinegar-containing and spicy foods, a lot of sweets and fatty foods.

Herbs for psoriasis

In order to get rid of illness, the power of plants is widely used in folk medicine.

Symptoms of psoriasis

Symptoms of psoriasis appear periodically with varying intensity.

There are three main periods of the disease:

  • Progressive stage;
  • Stationary stage;
  • Regressive stage.

Progressive stage

Signals the beginning of an acute period.

The progression stage is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • Psoriatic rashes appear on the body mainly on the flexor areas;
  • Papular pimples merge , joining together. White plaques form in areas of redness;
  • The affected areas begin to peel off , becoming covered with small scales;
  • Red, inflamed rims form around the sores.

Stationary stage

Comes in response to adequate treatment of the disease.

It is characterized by the following symptoms:

  • New papules stop appearing and become gray or grayish-white;
  • Existing plaques stop growing and enlarging;
  • Psoriatic rashes become completely covered with scales and the skin becomes rough;
  • The red rim disappears.

Regressive stage

It signals that the characteristic symptoms disappear and leads to a period of remission.

There are the following features:

  • Pseudo-atrophic rims of Voronov - are small folds with radical lines along the contour of inflammation;
  • Peeling stops and the skin becomes smoother;
  • , hypopigmented or hyperpigmented spots form

The stage of the disease is indicated by redness and inflammation of the skin at the site of the plaques.

Features of treatment with traditional medicine

If one of the methods does not help you, do not despair. The body is individual and for some some components are effective, but for others they are completely different. It is necessary to find a method that is effective for your body and do not forget about an integrated approach. To defeat a disease, it is necessary to fight it in every possible way. Both outside and inside; both locally and globally; both before/after meals and during meals; day and night.

We also note the following features of the diet during treatment. Consume mainly plant foods and dairy products. A minimum of eggs, flour and sweets, potatoes (starch), meat and animal fats. You should also exclude smoked and spicy foods; chocolate and citrus fruits; black tea and coffee. Forget about alcohol and cigarettes.

While fighting psoriasis, and even after, you should wear light clothing that does not put pressure on the body and skin so that the epidermal cells can “breathe.”

Treatment with propolis

When it comes to treating psoriasis with folk remedies quickly and effectively, it is impossible to do without the use of propolis. In medicinal form, this plant is a resin with a characteristic odor and viscous consistency. The composition of propolis is unique due to the presence of the following beneficial substances:

  • Amino acids.
  • Vitamins.
  • Wax.
  • Essential oils.
  • Impatiens and pollen.

Propolis is used to treat psoriasis, as well as many other dermatological problems due to the following beneficial properties, namely:

  • antiseptic;
  • painkiller;
  • antifungal;
  • anti-inflammatory;
  • healing.

To treat psoriasis with folk remedies at home, you can externally prepare an alcohol tincture from propolis. To do this, you need to mix 10 portions of alcohol with 1 portion of propolis. The finished mixture must be infused for three days at room temperature. During this time, the container with the tincture should be shaken. After three days, the homemade medicine is put into the refrigerator and stored throughout the course of treatment. The affected areas should be lubricated with alcohol tincture every day.

Almost all recipes for the treatment of psoriasis with folk remedies contain healthy cold-pressed vegetable oils. In complex therapy of the disease, the healing properties of such products cannot be ignored. Therefore, many doctors recommend mixing a moisturizing ointment from vegetable oils at home. This medicine is suitable for the treatment of scalp psoriasis with folk remedies. For cooking you will need olive, peach, sunflower and sea buckthorn oil. You just need to mix one teaspoon of all the ingredients and add to them the same amount of pure propolis. This ointment has a mild healing effect, so it can be used for bandages and compresses at night.

Treatment of nail psoriasis

Drug treatment is not always effective when psoriasis affects the nail area. This type of disease has some nuances and is a fairly rare form.

Nail psoriasis can occur on the feet or hands. At the same time, the color of the nail plate changes, dots and specks appear under it, and the nails themselves become covered with grooves and become brittle.

Symptoms may be in addition to skin lesions or may be limited to the nails.

Proper care of nails and hands plays a particularly important role in this form of the disease.

For treatment to be effective, the following recommendations must be followed:

  • Do not violate the schedule for taking medications and follow the instructions for use;
  • You need to forget about extensions and permanent gel -varnish coating for the duration of treatment;
  • It is necessary to beware of injuries to the nail plate , this can lead to a worsening of the condition;
  • Avoid cosmetic procedures and the use of unnatural products;
  • It is necessary to wear gloves when washing dishes and doing household work to prevent the ingress of chemicals.

Therapy Variations

Treatment of psoriatic pathology gives tangible results with an integrated approach to the problem. It is recommended to combine the use of alternative medicine in the final stages of the disease with general and local drugs.

  1. Herbs, infusions, lotions have a positive effect while undergoing physiotherapeutic procedures. The fight against pathological deviation with folk remedies must take place under certain conditions:
  2. It is forbidden to interrupt the treatment process on your own initiative - therapy must be completed regardless of its duration.
  3. All medicinal plants are collected at a certain time; the initial result depends on proper processing and suitable storage conditions. If the requirements are ignored, therapy will not have the desired effect.
  4. The effect on the body is produced by both local and general treatment. Without increasing the functionality of the autoimmune system, stabilizing the functioning of internal systems and organs, and clearing toxic substances, all treatment will be ineffective.
  5. Negative external factors that contribute to the development or exacerbation of psoriasis should be removed from life or their impact reduced to a minimum.
  6. Ready-made herbal mixtures are distributed in pharmacy chains, containing all the components necessary for recipes. When collecting independently, errors may be made, which will negatively affect the final results of therapy. Traditional healers recommend using ready-made herbal remedies.

It is forbidden to self-medicate - without a preliminary diagnostic examination, determining the degree of damage to the body and the form of the current disease. Any harmless medicinal plants can provoke many adverse reactions, among which an allergic rash will be in last place. Treatment of psoriasis at home requires maximum care and caution.

Treatment of psoriasis in pregnant women

Drug treatment during the period of pregnancy by a woman is usually accompanied by difficulties. This is due to the fact that most drugs are contraindicated for the expectant mother for the reason that they can affect the condition of the fetus.

An exacerbation of psoriasis during this period poses a danger to the child, but can significantly worsen the woman’s general well-being, which will naturally cause complications during pregnancy. For this reason, treatment should be carried out under the strict supervision of a specialist with strict adherence to his recommendations.

Disadvantages of traditional medicine

Non-traditional remedies for psoriasis have many advantages, but are not without disadvantages. Among the main ones:

  • folk recipes are only an addition to basic drug therapy;
  • Psoriasis cannot be cured quickly; long-term medication is required to achieve a positive result.

It is necessary to treat psoriasis with traditional methods only under the strict supervision of the attending physician. Uncontrolled treatment with traditional recipes can complicate the recovery process and lead to the development of complications.

The statement that psoriasis is incurable is incorrect. Recovery is quite possible if you choose the right treatment methods.

Salicylic ointment

In the treatment of psoriasis at home, you can use an ointment based on salicylic acid. It is necessary to take into account that the course of treatment with this remedy should not exceed three weeks, otherwise negative effects are possible. If psor has affected a small area of skin, then apply salicylic two percent ointment, having previously treated the area of application with an antiseptic. If the inflammation is severe, then double the amount of Vaseline is mixed with the ointment. To treat psoriasis of the scalp, salicylic ointment is used with a concentration of up to five percent. Read more about the use of salicylic ointments for psoriasis.

The main component of the ointment may be other substances. Below are several recipes for preparing homemade ointments, the use of which will help in the fight against the disease.

External use - Compresses and tinctures

Making a compress, lotion, or wiping sore spots with infusion or oil is in some cases easier than preparing an ointment. But according to reviews from patients who have used these products, there are also positive effects. It is necessary to find a traditional medicine treatment method that is effective for you personally.

The basis for the tincture can be various substances, including “Russian oil” (that is, birch tar).

And from grated raw potatoes (pink color) they make a compress for several hours; This method is effective for a small number of psoriatic rashes.

There is advice in folk medicine to use the scale from ordinary milk (not breast milk, cow's milk) - boil it in an enamel bowl, lubricate the plaques with the coating from the walls every hour, and you can drink the milk itself. Also, such a familiar kitchen spice as bay leaf can help with psoriasis. The bay leaf is poured with vegetable oil and left for a week in a cool, dark place.

Separately, it is worth noting the treatment with mummy, information about which cannot be found in Nosal’s book. Shilajit is a dark-colored, resin-like organic product found in many regions of the world, including Russia. It can also be found in pharmacies in tablet form. 200 mg of mumiyo (1 tablet) is dissolved in shungite water (shungite is a rock). The resulting solution is used for applications. Also, 1-2 tablets of mumiyo can be dissolved in a spoon of water and olive oil. This mixture is very effective for scalp psoriasis, and can also be added to hair masks. Mumiyo is also used internally. 1 tablet in the morning on an empty stomach (can be pre-dissolved in water). The cycle is 10 days. You should take a break between cycles.

So in studies conducted by M.E. Ereshov and his colleagues, patients were prescribed three cycles with a break of 5 days. In addition to mumiyo, some patients took B vitamins and nicotinic acid. As a result, after 40 days, 29 patients had the following results: 18 – clinical cure, 10 – significant improvement. Take also often, but 1 tablespoon at a time.

Herbal infusions

An important place in folk medicine is occupied by treatment with medicinal herbs and herbal preparations. Each plant has unique properties, and together they have a beneficial effect on health and the healing process. Below are recipes for seven different preparations. It is worth noting that six of them use celandine, as well as string. The remaining components are less common. Be careful and do not overdo it with the course of treatment, since, for example, celandine in high concentrations is dangerous. Therefore, the course is no more than 3-4 weeks.

The collection is obtained by mixing the components in the specified proportions (by weight, not by volume!).

After swimming, do not dry yourself. Make a paste from the onion (blender, meat grinder, chopper). Apply, rubbing thoroughly, onto the body and, if necessary, onto the head. After a third of an hour, take gauze and wipe the body; comb the pulp out of your hair. Go to bed without taking water treatments. In the morning, brew 200 grams of celandine in 5 liters of water, leave, let cool. Wash off any remaining mush with this infusion. The next day, wash well with soap and water and potassium permanganate. The next evening, repeat the procedure. Treat for three weeks.

You can also use sea salt for baths . First, 1-1.5 kilograms must be diluted in hot water (about 50 degrees), then diluted all this in the bath that you will take. The duration of the procedure is 15 minutes, the frequency is twice a week. After the bath, rinse with warm water and do not wipe yourself dry, but only pat your body dry with a towel.

Salt baths are effective for elbow psoriasis . Also, for this type of psoriasis, a herbal bath made from the following collection is effective: chamomile / string / celandine / sage. Dead sea salt is added to thermal water and the skin is sprayed with this solution to treat psoriasis on the face.

Recommendations for treatment and nutrition

To effectively treat psoriasis at home, you must follow the recommendations:

  • It is imperative to visit a doctor and adhere to his recommendations, no matter how experienced the patient is in treatment and what knowledge he has in this area;
  • When treating children, the most important thing is to exclude the provoking factor ;
  • Treatment should take place intermittently and on schedule;
  • Carefully remove peeled crusts from the surface of the skin and moisturize with cream.

Diet plays an important role in the treatment of psoriasis.

You should exclude the following from your diet:

  • Alcoholic drinks;
  • Soda;
  • Products with caffeine;
  • Red fruits and vegetables;
  • Citrus;
  • Chemical food additives;
  • Chocolate.

During periods of exacerbation of psoriasis, you should follow a strict hypoallergenic menu.

Basic rules of treatment

Treatment at home leads to positive results, but subject to strict adherence to the recommendations and rules of alternative medicine. The patient must adhere to the following requirements:

  • treatment is carried out until the symptoms of the disease disappear - 2-4 procedures will remain ineffective;
  • fight the disease comprehensively - using drugs internally and externally;
  • do not refuse the help of a doctor - combine folk remedies and pharmaceutical drugs if necessary;
  • supplement treatment with diet;
  • protect the skin from harmful external influences during the course of treatment (use protective cream, oil).

The use of home remedies must first be agreed with your doctor. If there are contraindications to the use of traditional methods, refuse treatment and turn to traditional medicine.

Before using any products, test for the body's tolerance of the active components. To do this, apply 3-5 drops of the prepared medicine to an area of the body that has increased sensitivity (elbow, crescent behind the ear, wrist) and wait 2 hours. If the body does not give alarm signals, it is allowed to use the product for external use.

Prevention of exacerbations

People suffering from psoriasis who are in the stage of regression or remission cannot be insured against relapses of the disease. Because it is not completely cured, the most important task is to avoid exacerbation.

To achieve this, it is recommended to follow the following preventive measures:

  • Wear gloves when washing dishes and doing housework;
  • Give preference to showers over baths;
  • After baths, soften the skin with special cosmetics;
  • Beware of mechanical damage to the skin;
  • Eliminate stressful situations;
  • Beware of allergic reactions;
  • Adhere to a healthy diet and lifestyle;
  • Take vitamin complexes periodically.

Disease prevention and prognosis

To prevent the development of the disease, you need to:

  • take proper care of your skin: harden your skin, take baths based on herbal infusions and sea salt;
  • When washing, use soft sponges, avoid damaging the skin;
  • use mild soaps and gentle detergents;
  • care for hair using special lotions, balms, shampoos;
  • control the time spent in direct sunlight;
  • wear natural clothes, do not use synthetics;
  • follow a diet, lead a healthy lifestyle, prevent vitamin deficiencies;
  • avoid stressful situations.

With early initiation of therapy, the prognosis is favorable. Advanced forms require longer treatment and threaten disability.

Reviews

Reviews about the treatment of psoriasis:

A little about the disease

Currently, scientists have not been able to determine the reason for the formation of psoriasis. But, at the same time, it was possible to find out that the defect in question is an atypical reaction of the body to a number of external stimuli.

The main symptom of the pathology is the formation of flaky spots. The rash becomes inflamed and causes severe skin itching. Similar lesions are observed on the arms, legs, hairline of the body, face, palms and feet. Less commonly, the defect affects the entire body.

If a psoriatic rash affects the nail plate, it is destroyed. In the case of the formation of spots on the joints, the main symptoms are additionally accompanied by stiffness of the arms and legs, as well as swelling. In the acute form, a person will feel:

  • deterioration of health;
  • increased body temperature;
  • severe itching in the areas where the rash has formed.

With the help of a properly selected treatment regimen, it is possible to improve the quality of life and minimize the number of relapses.

Every person diagnosed with the pathology in question should receive supportive therapy in a timely manner. With the help of a properly selected treatment regimen, it is possible to improve the quality of life and minimize the number of relapses.

How to quickly defeat psoriasis at home

The disease in question causes a lot of discomfort to the patient. Therefore, at the first symptom, it is necessary to begin treatment immediately. But it is important to remember that a positive result will come only if provoking factors are eliminated and bad habits are abandoned. As for quickly getting rid of the consequences on the body, you can use the following means:

  • Treatment of psoriasis with solidol has a good effect. The product treats plaques and after a few days they completely disappear;
  • Herbs are useful for psoriasis. Raw mint, lavender and chamomile are brewed and consumed as tea;
  • Baths with jasmine or rose oils also have a positive effect;
  • To remove scaly crusts from stains, apply oatmeal compresses.

These products relieve itching and get rid of blemishes. However, to consolidate the results obtained, systemic therapy is important.

And in conclusion, we note that folk remedies are not a panacea. They will not help completely defeat the disease, but they improve the patient’s quality of life even at an advanced stage.

How can psoriasis be cured using non-traditional treatment methods?

In addition to pills and injections, other methods are used to get rid of this problem. The beneficial properties of plants, products or drugs that people use at home were taken into account when searching for products that have a positive effect on skin pathologies. There are many recipes for ointments, lotions, baths, and decoctions that are not inferior in effectiveness to medicines.

How to fight body rashes with aloe

Since the disease is incurable until its cause is determined, the main goal in its treatment is to prolong the time of remission.
The houseplant doctor copes well with it. This is the name of ordinary aloe. Due to the presence of amino acids, enzymes and resins in its composition, the plant has a beneficial effect on the skin:

  • gets rid of bacteria;
  • cleanses;
  • restores skin after damage.

If this flower grows in the house and is already more than 3 years old, then this is a ready-made medicine. The aloe leaf is torn off, washed, crushed and squeezed out the juice. The juice is applied to the areas of psoriasis 2-3 times a day. The itching and redness will go away in a week.

Effective treatment methods using celandine

Another medicinal plant that has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties is celandine. In addition to these functions, it is a good antispasmodic, analgesic and antitumor agent.

Based on it the following is prepared:

  • ointments;
  • creams;
  • decoctions;
  • tinctures.

The effect of celandine on psoriasis is that the plant suppresses excessive cell production, which means it prevents the formation of scales and plaques, which cause great discomfort to the patient.
It is better to include the plant in complex treatment when the body is affected externally and internally.

For psoriasis, take baths with a decoction of celandine and a water temperature ranging from 38°C to 45°C or slightly cooler. This is a 10-minute daily procedure that is done in the evening before bed.

The ingredients are prepared for it: a glass of chopped herbs and 4 liters of water. Mix everything and keep on fire until the water boils, then set aside for 1 hour. The broth, strained through cheesecloth, is poured into water.

After such a therapeutic water procedure, you should immediately go to bed. The frequency of baths is from 5 to 7 days. If necessary, the course is repeated after 2 weeks.

Celandine is one of those plants that must be used with caution. Medicines that contain it can adversely affect the intrauterine development of the fetus during a woman’s pregnancy, as well as the health of infants feeding on mother’s milk. In addition, it is contraindicated for those with cardiovascular problems, epilepsy or bronchial asthma.

Sea salt and traditional medicine in the treatment of psoriasis

Water procedures for psoriasis are done using sea salt.
The required mass of this natural medicine is from 1 to 1.5 kg per bath. The salt is first placed in water and stirred until large crystals dissolve. The water in the bath should cover the body. For larger volumes you need to take more salt. You need to lie in the water for 15 minutes 2 times a week. Remains of salt are removed by rinsing with water and patting the body with a towel (do not rub the skin!).

Often, patients diagnosed with psoriasis suffer from joint damage. Sea salt is a unique remedy that improves the condition of both diseases.

Traditional medicine has numerous ways to influence the condition of the skin with psoriasis. These are mainly herbs (chamomile, string, dandelion root, nettle, sage, tricolor violet, etc.), foods (eggs, vinegar, carrots, walnuts). Decoctions, baths, and lotions are prepared from them.

Propolis ointment

Propolis, or bee glue, is actively used to treat skin pathologies, one of which is psoriasis.
Such attention to the product produced by bees is explained by its uniqueness in terms of composition, which is multicomponent in nature. It includes plant pollen, aromatic and essential oils, fatty acids, alcohols, vitamins, trace elements and amino acids.

For the product, take propolis, grind it and combine it with pre-softened oil. This composition is kept in a container over steam, stirred constantly and brought to a homogeneous state. Then turn off the heat and add a few drops of vitamin A oil solution. Stir well to obtain a healing ointment.

It needs to be stored in the refrigerator. The locations of the plaques on the skin are lubricated daily with this ointment until they disappear.

Bay leaf decoction

An ordinary bay leaf can be effective in treating skin pathologies.
It is used for oral and external use. Before taking a decoction of this plant, you need to consult a specialist, because laurel has contraindications. Dried bay leaves are dipped in a bowl of boiling water, kept on low heat for 30 minutes, then filtered and drunk 250 g before meals for a week.

For compresses, you just need to moisten folded gauze in the broth and apply it to the plaques for 20 minutes. The decoction can be added to the water when bathing. This gives a good result and significantly increases the remission period.

Hydrogen peroxide

Another handy remedy available in every first aid kit is hydrogen peroxide. Due to its disinfecting properties, it is used for cuts or abrasions. Psoriasis expands the list of indications for its use. This cheap medicine allows you to get rid of the skin manifestations of this chronic disease.

The treatment regimen is simple: you need to lubricate the affected skin with a solution of hydrogen peroxide (3%) in the morning and evening. As an option, you can make compresses by applying pieces of cotton wool or gauze (folded in several layers) to the stains soaked in an aqueous solution of peroxide (there should be 2 times more water).

Soda

Soda alleviates the plight of the patient by reducing the acidity of the human body, bringing the condition of the epidermal cells to normal levels. This reduces the manifestation of the disease. Result of baking soda:

  • plaques become softer;
  • dead cells are removed;
  • itching goes away;
  • the cellular ability to resist infection increases.

To treat the disease, it is recommended to take soda baths. Thanks to this procedure, beneficial substances are able to penetrate into all tissues, and warm water has a positive effect on nerve cells and relieves a person from itching and irritation.

For a bath, take 500 g of soda. To enhance the effect, take a bath with herbal decoctions dissolved in it or a few drops of essential oils, which are useful for skin pathologies:

  • chamomile;
  • sequences;
  • calendula;
  • St. John's wort;
  • celandine.

To get rid of plaques located on the head, 1 tbsp. l. add soda to a glass (180 ml) of water and moisten the skin for 5 minutes, then rinse your head. Second option: add powder to shampoo and rub into skin. This will allow you to carry out the skin treatment and hair washing procedure.

You cannot use large amounts of sodium bicarbonate; this can have a bad effect on the condition of the skin, disrupt its acidity and lead to loss of resistance to various fungi and bacteria.

Tar

Dermatology has long adopted the beneficial properties of tar.
Among all its tree varieties, birch, which is obtained from birch bark, has become especially popular. The following changes occur in the body of patients with psoriasis after using tar:

  • pain and irritation on the skin disappear;
  • the fight against infections is intensified;
  • redness goes away;
  • dead cells are exfoliated;
  • cellular recovery occurs faster;
  • blood movement in tissues improves.

For psoriasis, use tar shampoo or soap. But you can make your own medicine for the disease from tar:

  • ointment;
  • compress.

To prepare the ointment, the ingredients, in addition to tar, are castor oil, honey and beaten chicken egg white. The mixture should sit in the refrigerator for 3 days, after which it is ready for use. It wouldn't hurt to add a small amount of salicylic acid here. Apply the prepared mixture to problem areas overnight. Everything is repeated for a month.

Making compresses is simple: to do this, take tar soap and grind it on a fine grater, pour water in a ratio of 1:2. The well-mixed mixture is applied to the body, wait 15 minutes and rinse off. It is enough to apply the compress 2 times a week.

To alleviate itching and irritation, baths with the addition of decoctions based on medicinal herbs will help, after which products, one of the components of which is tar (preferably birch), are applied to problem areas.

Solid oil

Among the numerous arsenal of drugs for this complex disease, solid oil-based products stand out. This component, made from fatty acids, has beneficial properties for the skin:

  • activates restoration processes in cells;
  • fights itching;
  • eliminates pain;
  • cleanses the skin of plaques.

Solidol, which is used to make ointments, does not cause side effects, and is recommended for the treatment of many skin diseases. But you can prepare ointments yourself. By combining solid oil, melted butter and egg white, a mixture is obtained that is used to lubricate the skin.

Barley decoction

The effect of treating skin diseases can be enhanced if, along with external agents, medications are used internally.
One of these simple and affordable natural ingredients is barley. Barley malt is infused in hot water (it is better to use a thermos for this) for several hours. Then the infusion is filtered through several layers of gauze and taken up to 6 times 0.5 cups during the day.
