Treatment of vitiligo with St. John's wort and black cumin oil

The best vegetable oils in the treatment of vitiligo are St. John's wort and black cumin oils, which can eliminate foci of the disease. Oils applied to the skin causes their cells to produce melanin, which is responsible for pigmentation.

St. John's wort oil for vitiligo

Often this oil is prepared according to a very simple recipe: fill a jar with crushed St. John's wort and add vegetable oil, and after a couple of weeks of infusion the product is ready. However, this oil is ineffective! Since it turns out not concentrated. This oil certainly has a healing effect, but the treatment is very sluggish.

Recipe for concentrated St. John's wort oil:

To make truly effective St. John's wort oil, you only need St. John's wort flowers! No foliage, only flowers. Fill a small glass jar with St. John's wort flowers, placing them tightly and slightly compacting them. You will need enough flowers to fill the jar, but at the same time, leave 4-5 cm of empty space up to the neck. Fill the jars with refined sunflower oil to the top (you can take any other medicinal oil, for example sea buckthorn, almond).

Place the finished jar in the sun (not in a dark place, but rather in the sun) for at least 2 weeks, shaking occasionally. After 2 weeks, the oil is squeezed out and a new portion of St. John's wort flowers is added again! And again they stand for 2 weeks. And so they do 5-6 circles, but more can be done if desired.

Since St. John's wort blooms all summer, there should be no problems with raw materials. After overcoming all the difficulties, you will get a truly effective St. John's wort oil of a red-brown color, reminiscent of sour cream in its consistency.

This oil can be successfully used for vitiligo, muscle strain, flu, radiculitis, neuralgia, osteochondrosis, burns, cuts, various tumors, sore throats. If taken internally 1 tsp. before meals, it effectively helps with various gastrointestinal diseases

Black pepper really helps in the treatment of vitiligo

British scientists have discovered that the chemical compound piperine, which is found in large quantities in black pepper, giving it a spicy smell and special taste, can become a source of a drug to cure vitiligo. Because as a result of this disease, pigmentation is disrupted, due to which the melanin pigment disappears, some areas of the skin become milky white. And piperine, contained in black pepper, stimulates its production.

At King's College London in the capital of Great Britain, scientists conducted experiments on mice to study the effects of piperine and their derivatives. A substance was applied to the skin of rodents that had vitiligo. Some mice were additionally exposed to ultraviolet rays - such irradiation has been used for a long time as a method of treating vitiligo, although it is ineffective.

As a result of these tests, which lasted 6 weeks, the skin of the rodents became a uniform light brown color. And in those mice whose skin was not only smeared with piperine, but also irradiated, it turned out to be a darker shade. This effect was achieved much earlier than with ultraviolet therapy alone. The skin in this case, according to scientists, was more evenly colored.

A group of researchers led by Anthony Young concluded that this effect was obtained due to the ability of piperine to form pigment skin cells (melanocytes). They believe that there is a prospect of creating a drug based on this substance that can reduce the need for exposure to ultraviolet rays, which often leads to the development of skin melanoma.

In the meantime, traditional medicine offers the following recipe for vitiligo:

Mix ground black pepper and baking soda in equal proportions. Rub the resulting powder into areas with light spots on the skin. Observations show that pigment in this area begins to intensively form, the color of the spots gradually becomes equal to the color of the skin.

If left untreated, the disease can progress. In addition, vitiligo can be accompanied by serious pathologies, so it is important to carefully consider the choice of medication. This should be done by a specialist.

Glucocorticosteroid drugs are drugs that can suppress allergic reactions and autoimmune processes.

This group of drugs is prescribed for localized form of vitiligo. In this case, medications are prescribed in the form of ointments.

In the generalized form, glucocorticosteroids are prescribed in tablet form.

If at least one spot appears, you should consult a dermatologist.

As for systemic therapy, its main objectives are:

  • elimination of hormonal disorders;
  • lifting patients out of depression.

Why does vitiligo appear?

Researchers have not yet uncovered the nature of the appearance of vitiligo and the mechanism of its development.
Not much is known about the pathology. It appears due to the destruction of the pigment in the skin responsible for its color. Depending on the shape and number of spots covering the skin, several types of the disease are distinguished. According to dermatologists, the impetus for the development of skin pathology can be:

  • Autoimmune diseases;
  • Inheritance of a disease;
  • Brown eye color. According to statistics, people with this eye color get sick more often;
  • Problems with the endocrine system;
  • Hormonal imbalance;
  • Serious injuries or burns;
  • Use of certain types of medications;
  • Work in hazardous industries and direct contact with hazardous chemicals;
  • Diseases of the stomach and intestines;

It is extremely rare to completely cure the disease, so dermatologists advise trying folk remedies for vitiligo in combination with other therapeutic measures.
