Common hazel plant
Since childhood, everyone remembers this delicious delicacy - the fruits of common hazel, that is, a hazelnut (also called hazelnut).
Anyone who hasn’t tried it yet probably knows about its existence from the wrapping of candy or chocolate with nuts.
In folk medicine, such nuts have a significant weight. After all, the fruits of common hazel contain fatty oil (62%), proteins (17%), carbohydrates (7%), minerals (2%), vitamins C, D and E.
I recommend that everyone take note of this information about the hazel plant. Especially for young mothers who are breastfeeding. You should try to eat hazelnuts as much as possible. They increase the fat content of mother's milk and increase its “production”.
It has been known for a very long time that aromatic umbrella plants increase the amount of milk secreted. The process is especially active if you combine the use of a decoction of these plants with honey and nuts.
It is also very useful to eat nuts with honey for anemia and rheumatism.
It is worth adding that hazelnuts have a good effect on the process of getting rid of stones in urolithiasis. They prevent gases from accumulating in the human intestines and have a softening effect.
Probably, many have heard that in folk medicine, hazel fruits ground with water are recommended for use for lung diseases, fever and hemoptysis.
Hazelnut kernels crushed and mixed with egg white are good to use externally for burns. And dried plush powder or a decoction of the shell will help with colitis.
I also want you to pay close attention to the hazelnut oil. This is a very powerful medicine that it would be a sin not to use to heal your body.
Walnut oils contain lipotropic substances: choline, lecithin and meteonine. This healthy product also contains unsaturated fatty acids, which are good for use against atherosclerosis.
Of course, that's not all! Do not forget about proteins (14-18%), carbohydrates (no more than 8%), biotin, carotene, vitamins B, PP, E, C and iron salts.
Due to the abundance of beneficial properties, nut oil is specially used as a lubricant for skin burns.
This product is also very useful for people who suffer from baldness and scalp hair loss. If you rub the oil into your scalp, you can prevent hair loss in the future.
In addition to hazelnuts and nut oil, hazel can provide us with even more medicinal products. So let's talk about them now.
From this useful plant, we may also need leaves, stems, bark and roots. If you collect leaves for yourself, always collect them while the plant itself is in flowering. But the bark needs to be harvested in early spring or from August to October.
Chemical composition
Hazel is actively used in herbal medicine and home cosmetology; its application is quite extensive, and all parts of the plant are used: stems, bark and nut shell.
The chemical composition of hazel is unique. This is a real “treasury of valuable components.” The beneficial properties of hazel leaves and stems are based on the rich content of tannins, flavonoids, vitamin C (ascorbic acid), carotene, anthocyanins, palmitic acid and triterpenoids. The fruit (hazelnut) contains a lot of specific, unique protein substance corelin, sucrose, nitrogen and carbohydrates, as well as vitamins B1 and B3, E and PP. Hazel oil is made from its fruits; it has valuable properties and is rich in saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. The latter include oleic, linoleic, myristic and palmitic acid, as well as stearic acid.
Hazel leaves and bark are used to prepare decoctions, infusions and tinctures, as well as extract. Valuable oil is made from the nuts; they are also used fresh for cooking and in the manufacture of medicines.

Hazel bark and medicinal properties

Treatment of skin diseases and inflammations with ointment
First of all, it is collected and dried hazel bark, the medicinal properties of which are used to make a unique emulsion. This drug is successfully used for various inflammatory and allergic skin rashes, eczema, streptoderma and athlete's foot. Extracts from the plant bark bring significant relief to patients suffering from such complex diseases as psoriasis, varicose and trophic ulcers, thrombophlebitis and varicose veins.
To prepare the ointment, use catkins of a flowering plant, collected in dry weather. A glass of this raw material is mixed with a glass of nut oil (hazel, almond, cedar), and in its absence, any vegetable oil can be used. The resulting mixture must be heated in a water bath for 3 hours or simmered in a warm oven.
After this, the mixture is filtered, squeezed out and about 35-40 g of pre-softened natural beeswax is added to the resulting oil. Mix everything thoroughly and heat it up again. It is important not to bring it to a boil under any circumstances! The finished composition is poured into a clean, dry glass jar and, without closing, is left to cool.
Burns on the skin are perfectly healed by an ointment prepared from carefully crushed hazelnut kernels and fresh egg whites. The ointment is simply applied to the wound and left to dry without covering it with any bandages.

It's all about phenols
Leaves, nut shells and bark of young shoots are used as medicinal raw materials for common hazel and tree hazel. The leaves are collected in the first half of summer, dried, spread in a thin layer in a dry, ventilated area. The bark is harvested from young shoots in May - June, when it is easily separated from the wood. Dry it in the sun or in attics.
The bark contains essential oil, which has a vasoconstrictor effect, triterpenoids (betulin - 0.2%), tannins (2.5-10.8%), including phlobaphenes, tannins, in general, a whole set of various phenolic compounds. The leaves contain aldehydes (hexene-2-al-1), essential oil (contains paraffins, palmitic acid), vitamin C, carotene, tannins (7.7-11.6%), flavonoids (quercitrin, myricitrin), phenolcarboxylic acids (chlorogenic acids, etc.).
Its kernels contain up to 72% oil, up to 20% proteins, up to 8% carbohydrates, 2-3% mineral salts and vitamins A and B. 400 g of hazelnut kernels provide the daily calorie needs of an adult. Hazel oil is non-drying, has excellent taste and is easily absorbed by the body. It can be used as a preventive and therapeutic agent in the treatment of atherosclerosis, as well as in perfumery, painting, and for the production of candles and soap. This is a good basis in aromatherapy.
Common and tree hazels are used in medicine almost equally.
Hazel hazel
I think everyone knows hazel kernels. This is a protein product rich in various vitamins. I recommend that you eat different types of nuts every year. Especially forest ones.
Also pay attention to the storage of such fruits. Under no circumstances store raw materials in plastic bags. Otherwise, fungus will appear. Instead, store in canvas bags.
Nuts last much longer in the refrigerator (3-4 years)
than at normal room temperature
(1 year)
. I also recommend pouring the nuts into a bag before use and then shaking it well.
If you hear a distinct ringing sound, it means your product has not deteriorated and can be used further for its intended purpose. If there is no ringing, then the nuts have begun to break down. It is advisable not to use such raw materials.
And of course, also conduct an additional visual inspection of the product. You can’t do without this!
Hazelnut is not only a good medicine, but also a healthy food for humans. There are many delicious dishes that contain this wonderful ingredient, in my opinion.
And so that it does not lose its beneficial properties, it must be consumed raw. This will be the healthiest and most effective nutrition for you!
Raw hazelnut
Raw hazelnuts are very well absorbed by the human body. Children can use it from the age of 2 years. Also, such a product will be useful to everyone, even older people.
In addition to the advantages described above, it should be said that the nut improves many systems in our body:
- digestive system
- arterial
- venous
- lymphatic
- respiratory
- nervous
- muscular
- visual and auditory
- harmonious
- sexual (applies to both men and women)
- improves memory, skin and hair
- increases bone composition
- liver, kidneys, etc. work better
What else are hazelnuts good for us?
I will say that by consuming this fruit in its raw form, you cleanse your body of food, household, industrial and medical chemicals. And also from radiation of any kind. Always remember this and try to eat raw hazelnuts often!
This rule must be observed.
You see what our life is like. Dangers and harmful substances surround us at every step. And with the development of technology, such dangers have become even more numerous.
Therefore, do not disdain this method and try to somehow support your body from all this chemistry and radiation.
Hazelnut oil
Hazelnut oil, as mentioned above, is also very beneficial for the body. People of almost all ages can take it. The only thing is that it is not allowed for children who are not even 8 months old. And so can the rest. Even older people.
If you make any salads, I sometimes recommend using hazelnut oil instead of sunflower oil. If you don't have one, then this is not a problem. You can buy it in special bottles.
You can also season porridge with this oil in the morning. I will say that in the morning, instead of all sorts of tea and sandwiches, it will be much healthier to eat porridge. Especially if it is seasoned with this type of oil.
The usefulness here doubles several times!
Also note that this oil is much healthier than the nut itself. That is, unlike raw nuts, oil is twice as effective in improving the functioning of certain systems of the human body.
Therefore, take note of this information. And if there is such an opportunity, be sure to purchase this useful ingredient for yourself.
The oil will also help you get rid of asthma, allergies, moles, warts, acne, as well as various radiation and chemicals in the body. In general, the product is very useful. Therefore, I recommend that you consume both the oil and the hazelnuts themselves.
For older people who have dental problems, I recommend eating crushed nuts. The effect of cleansing the body does not get any worse.
Hazel contraindications for use
The main contraindications relate mainly to nuts. They are allergenic products. Therefore, their use is prohibited even for medicinal purposes in the presence of allergies.
In addition, you should not eat nuts if you:
Obesity;
Kidney disease;
Liver disease;
Exacerbation of cholecystitis or pancreatitis.
When treating with preparations based on leaves and twigs, the only contraindication is individual intolerance.
