He cultivated the plant and was the first to bring it to Bulgaria. Mr. Ushev’s close people – his father and grandfather – were involved in collecting and preparing the drink. They devoted more than a hundred years to this craft. Using herbs, they treated not only their loved ones, but also helped their fellow villagers.

In 2002, Mursal tea began to be grown artificially; Mr. Ushev was involved in this. To do this, he planted plant seeds in areas that were specially designated for this. The composition of the soil was exactly the same as in the plant’s usual growing environment. In 1980, more than 80 Kamaz trucks filled with natural soil for tea were delivered. This was done to expand the Mursal tea plantations. Favorable soil for plant growth is dry and rocky soil. It should be loose and drain well. The main goal when growing Mursal tea is to preserve, if possible, all the beneficial vitamins and elements that give the drink valuable properties and invaluable qualities.

From 1942 to 2002, Mursala tea was listed in the Red Book of Bulgaria. This rare plant is of great value. Tea was protected from destruction by the Law on the Preservation of the Natural Type of Plants.

How long have you been studying Mursala tea and where does this interest come from?

I have been researching tea for over 40 years and am still amazed by this plant. I became acquainted with tea during my student years. I was attracted by his first studies, which showed the presence of 20 useful elements in this plant. I even specially transferred to practice as a local doctor in the village of Trigrad, where this amazing tea grows.

There, in one nearby village, consisting of only 250 inhabitants, I counted 19 people over 100 years old! And the norm is that 80-year-old pensioners lead an active lifestyle and confidently work in their areas. As it turns out, Mursal tea is an integral part of their daily diet.

What can you say about the second name of the tea - Bulgarian Viagra?

Mursala tea contains Zinc and Selenium, which have a positive effect on the entire reproductive system and well stimulate spermatogenesis (sperm motility). Therefore, it has such an effect on male strength and, only thanks to these two elements, it has achieved the glory of Bulgarian Viagra.

But this is far from the most important thing in this miraculous herb. After 40 years of numerous trials and treatment of hundreds of patients using this tea, I dare to say that it cures: cancer and prostate adenoma, urethral stones, inflammatory diseases of the genitourinary system in men and women, anemia...

If we don’t do this, then Japan or Sweden will patent it. It is the matter of time.

Bulgarian Mursal tea

Mursala tea, imported from Bulgaria, belongs to the herbs of the Sideritis Scardica family. The plant is collected mainly in Bulgarian territory. The main area for grass growth is the Balkan Mountains. The drink has different names. Sometimes it is called Pirin tea, and depending on the place of harvest, it is called Rhodope or Tigrad tea. The birthplace of the plant is considered to be an area called Mursalitsa. It was this place that gave the name to tea.

The grass can grow from 15 to 40 centimeters in height. Tea resembles spikelets in appearance; they are similar to the cereal crops we are familiar with. All healing properties are found not only in the inflorescences, but also in the leaves and stems of the plant.

Tea blooms from June to August. Harvesting can begin at the end of June, this is when the plant ripens. It accumulates the maximum amount of useful vitamins and minerals, as well as essential microelements.

In Latin the plant is called Sideritis scardica, and in Russian it is Zheleznitsa. It is believed that the herb received its Latin and then Russian name for its ability to heal wounds inflicted by iron objects. Mursalsky, also known as Pirin tea, is a rare plant endemic to the Balkan Peninsula, which has been cultivated with varying success for several centuries. From time to time, tea is on the verge of extinction, since it is collected very actively - much more actively than it is bred.
