Traditional medicine preparations can quickly cope with most gallbladder diseases. Exceptions are stage 4 gallbladder cancer, stones larger than 1.5 cm, or stones consisting of sparingly soluble oxalate compounds.
But in some cases, medications are contraindicated - hypoallergenicity, pregnancy in the 2-3rd trimester, hormonal imbalance, if several medications have side effects. In the above cases, the only alternative is folk remedies.
Traditional medicine can complement therapy with medications, enhancing and or prolonging their effect, protecting the body from the toxic effects of them.
Gallbladder diseases
- Inflammation of the gallbladder mucosa – cholecystitis.
- Inflammation of the bile ducts - cholangitis.
- The appearance of benign formations – polyposis; malignant - cancer.
- Formation of solid particles (stones) – cholelithiasis – the presence of sand and the initial stage of stone formation.
- Stagnation and changes in the chemical composition of bile - dyskinesia of the gallbladder.
Reference! Some theorists differentiate gallstone disease and the presence of stones. Stones – formed stones, 1 cm, regardless of the cause.
Causes and symptoms
There is one common cause for all gallbladder diseases - poor diet.
Cholangitis | Dysbacteriosis or changes in the chemical composition of bile; does not exist as an independent disease. |
Cholecystitis | Reactive inflammatory processes due to allergies, immune diseases of bone tissue, hormonal imbalance; long-term treatment with antibiotics; abuse of herbal decoctions that give bitterness and alcohol; as a consequence of liver disease and colds. |
Biliary dyskinesia | Unusual physical activity for the body or its sudden cessation. |
Polyposis | Unfiltered drinking water from streams; giardiasis, amoebiasis; unwashed fruits, vegetables, herbs. |
Cholelithiasis | Drinking alcohol and foods that increase acidity, with animal and vegetable fats |
Cancer | Eating foods containing carcinogens (E...); treatment of benign tumors with folk remedies; radioactive exposure, work with heavy metals, phenolic and benzene compounds; genetic predisposition. |
Symptoms
Find out from the video what symptoms you should not ignore:
There are 2 common symptoms for all diseases of the gallbladder and bile duct - nausea and weakness.
Cholangitis | Smooth periodic cramps during hunger and after eating fatty foods; body temperature up to 38; hot belly; local muscle swelling. |
Cholecystitis | Heartburn and bitter belching after fatty, fried and spicy foods; dyspepsia - after spicy fried and fatty foods, diarrhea, with prolonged abstinence from eating, unsystematic intake of fatty, heavy fiber (raw cabbage, flour products with wholemeal flour) - constipation; pulsation or spasms in the right hypochondrium. |
Polyposis | At the initial stage there are no symptoms. If the size of 1 or several polyps exceeds 1 cm: a pulling feeling in the right hypochondrium, pulsation; rapid weight loss or obesity. |
Cholelithiasis | Severe pain, depending on the location of the stone, radiating to the kidneys, shoulder blade, pancreas; the liver increases in volume as if due to inflammation; during exacerbation - loss of consciousness. |
Cancer | Symptoms appear from stage 2: constant acute pain; sudden weight loss. |
Attention! Bitterness in the mouth appears when bile stagnates.
Basic diseases and pathologies
There are many reasons for the development of organ damage, and they are not necessarily caused by external factors.
The main pathologies are:
- cholelithiasis;
- cholecystitis (acute and chronic);
- dyskinesia;
- malignant and benign tumors.
The cause of gallstone disease is high levels of cholesterol in the blood, a decrease in the synthesis of phospholipids and bile itself. Often this disease is inherited, but often it can be caused by excess weight and diabetes.
Gallstones differ in chemical composition and can be pigment, calcareous, cholesterol or mixed. The size and content of stones can be determined using both ultrasound and tests.
Acute or chronic cholecystitis is a severe inflammation of the bladder, in which the free outflow of bile and its distribution in the intestine are disrupted. In the acute form, the patient experiences severe pain, fever and vomiting, while the chronic form is more calm. The cause of the disease is most often a bacterial infection.
Watch a video about acute cholecystitis:
Dyskinesia is characterized by a violation (decrease or increase) of the motor function of the gallbladder and ducts. Because of this, there is insufficient (excessive) flow of bile into the intestines. This leads to overflow of the bladder and stagnation of bile. The cause of this pathology is often overload, stress, and frequent hypothermia.
Tumors are caused by various causes that are difficult to predict. They can manifest themselves in the form of polyps (benign) and in the form of oncology.
Folk remedies
Treatment with folk remedies is not acceptable for polyps, stones, and cancer. Polyps are a mutation into a malignant tumor. Stones – rupture of the bile duct. Cancer – stimulation of cancer cells to divide.

Lemon juice increases the acidity of bile, corrodes the walls of the gallbladder and bile ducts, provokes ulcers, and destroys the gastrointestinal mucosa.
Other recipes
In the treatment of any disease, the main role is played by the state of immunity. Foods that increase immunity: beets, blood sausage, propolis, pomegranate juice, oats, carrots.

Calculous form of cholecystitis - traditional methods of treatment
It is worth saying right away that as a treatment for gallstones against the background of inflammation of its walls, the use of folk remedies is effective only in the early stages of the development of the pathology. The stone can be of different nature, but only cholesterol stones are treated conservatively.
Among the most famous folk recipes for this disease, we highlight the following:
- chicory roots (infusion). Pour boiling water (one glass) into the pre-crushed root of the plant in the amount of two tablespoons and wait until the infusion cools. The resulting infusion should be drunk evenly throughout the day, in small sips;
- strawberries (berries). Ripe strawberries are ground with a small amount of sugar and placed in the refrigerator. Dosage regimen – one tablespoon on an empty stomach, followed by one glass of boiled clean water (warm temperature);
- beet syrup. We take a thoroughly washed small root vegetable, peel it and make a small depression in it. Pour three teaspoons of sugar into this cavity and place the beets in the oven or oven. Keep it on until all the sugar has completely dissolved. The resulting syrup should be drunk on an empty stomach, one tablespoon at a time. The duration of treatment with beet syrup is 6 months, but the syrup should always be freshly prepared.

Application of strawberries
In the fight against sediment in the gallbladder, a component such as silicon, a certain amount of which is contained in strawberries, helps to cope. In this regard, experts insist on using, for example, its leaves. To do this, it will be possible to prepare tea, for which twigs, roots and leafy parts are used. It would be best to harvest strawberries during their flowering period. About 100 gr. This composition is brewed in a regular teapot and consumed instead of tea throughout the day. The most effective remedy is, of course, a fresh drink, and therefore it is best to drink it within 24 hours. This remedy is effective for many biliary pathologies.
A special infusion will help eliminate suspension in the gallbladder. To prepare it you will need to use twigs with leaves and dried strawberries . This remedy is useful because it enhances the secretion of bile, increases the ratio of fatty acids in it, and is also a diuretic. To prepare the composition you will need:
- use one tbsp. l. dried wild strawberries;
- it is placed in a thermos, brewed with 400 ml of boiling water, allowed to brew for two hours, after which the composition can be considered ready;
- after filtering, the product is consumed 100 ml an hour before eating three times within 24 hours.

Prevention
If there are chronic diseases, prevention should not be harsh. The main thing is compliance with sanitation standards. Lots of dishes made from nettles, beets, chicken, fish; soak the liver for 30 minutes; if there are no salts, pomegranate juice with honey. Boiled carrot salads, baked goods with apples, apple salads with parsley; maximum casseroles, rational distribution of physical activity.
If you have kidney disease - decoctions of bear ears, immortelle, calendula. Do not mix herbs. Do not use wormwood - bitterness in the mouth, enlarged liver. You can’t wean your body off its usual food – fried food once a week! Eat 1-2 cloves of garlic.
Put a lot of parsley in dishes. Be sure to have borscht and beets with honey, hot sandwiches with fish - phosphorus and anti-inflammatory for the bile ducts. Porridge every day.
Important! The best prevention is a varied menu and multiple meals.
Treatment with corn silk
Corn silk is definitely useful because it helps eliminate bile stagnation. They neutralize the feeling of heaviness, nausea and pain in the right hypochondrium. The infusion is used when it is necessary to treat a number of diseases, namely cholecystitis, hepatitis or cholangitis. An infusion of corn silk is prepared as follows: one tbsp. l. dried herbs are brewed in a thermos with 200 ml of boiling water. The composition should be infused for 60 minutes, after which it is filtered. You need to take a quarter glass 30 minutes before eating three times a day.
Provided you are not allergic to alcohol tinctures, you can use a pharmaceutical extract made from corn silk. Speaking about this, pay attention to the following features:
- it is infused with 70% alcohol;
- to prepare the product, use about 30-40 drops, which will need to be dripped into a glass with a small amount of clean water;
- use this remedy at least two or three times a day, 30 minutes before meals.
If the product does not produce the desired result or a person experiences allergic reactions, it is strongly recommended to discard it. It is noteworthy that it is precisely due to this composition that finely dispersed suspension is eliminated most quickly.
