What is another name for hemlock grass?

Hemlock grass is one of the few medicinal plants that is highly toxic. Despite this, it has been used since ancient times by healers and healers in the treatment of a number of diseases. Today we will talk about this plant, its medicinal properties and contraindications.

In Ancient Greece, this poisonous plant was used to poison criminals who were sentenced to death by the court. There is a version that a public figure, the philosopher Socrates, was poisoned with such poison. Nowadays, the hemlock herb (you can see the photo below) is practically not used in official medicine. Its use was discontinued in 1990 due to the danger of the method and officially recorded cases of poisoning during the treatment of patients.

But after 2000, hemlock grass became the basis of drugs for the treatment of malignant tumors. These medicines were patented by Russian specialists - N. Aleutsky and N. Nazarenko. They managed to develop a method for treating neoplasms using hemlock extract.

Hemlock grass: description, photo of grass

This plant, belonging to the Apiaceae family, goes through a two-year life cycle. In the first year, it looks very much like parsley: the same carved leaves, collected in a basal bunch, the same root - curved, without large shoots. It was during this period that many hemlock poisonings were recorded: it was mistakenly picked and used as a salad dressing.

Hemlock grass will not cause significant harm to cattle, particularly cows. The lethal dose for these animals is contained in four kilograms of greens. But hemlock, fortunately, does not grow in mass plantings; it usually grows in single specimens. But the grass is dangerous for poultry: for ducks and chickens, a “portion” weighing about 70 grams is lethal.

In its second year, the hemlock grass transforms. It grows up to 80 cm in height, and sometimes reaches a meter. The almost bare tubular stem is branched and has characteristic nodes. Unfortunately, it is the stem that attracts children. They make whistles out of it. Such games, unfortunately, lead to poisoning, often severe.

On the greenish stem with a blue coating, longitudinal grooves are clearly visible. The stem rarely bears large leaves on long petioles. They are naked and have a characteristic feathery edge. A distinctive feature of hemlock grass is the scattering of spots on the stem and leaves. This is why the plant is called speckled.

Hemlock begins to bloom in May. White umbrellas appear on it, which remain until the end of September, and sometimes until the first days of October. During this period, the plant emits a rather unpleasant odor. If you crush any part of it in your hands, the smell can be felt during the growing season. At the end of the flowering cycle, seeds appear, which are in boxes that easily fall off the bushes.

Botanical description of the plant, its distribution area

Hemlock is a wild herbaceous plant that has a two-year life cycle.
In the first year it does not form reproductive organs and does not form a long stem. The above-ground part is represented by a lush rosette of basal leaves. Flowering occurs in the second year, usually in mid-July. Many white shield-shaped inflorescences are formed. The fruits are set no earlier than August. The plant belongs to the umbrella family. Reaches a height of more than 1.5 m, under favorable conditions it can grow taller than human height. The leaves of the plant are strongly dissected, openwork, reminiscent of carrots. The lower leaf plates can reach a length of up to 50 cm. The fruits are characteristic of Umbelliferae, round or ovoid, slightly laterally compressed, brown, about 3 mm long. The stem is smooth, hollow. Spotted or speckled hemlock is ubiquitous. It is called so because there are characteristic red-brown spots on the stem. Hemlock exudes a peculiar unpleasant odor.

Hemlock has an unpleasant odor

The distribution area of this plant is quite wide. It grows near roads, in landfills, along river banks, on forest edges, wastelands, vegetable gardens, etc. In nature, it is found throughout almost the entire territory of Europe, in the Asian region with a temperate climate, in China, almost throughout the entire territory of Russia, incl. in the Caucasus and Western Siberia.

Hemlock can grow almost anywhere where winter temperatures do not drop below -30 C° and there is snow cover so that the biennial plant can successfully overwinter. In areas rich in nutrients, for example, near livestock farms where there is a lot of manure, hemlock grows quite wildly. Prefers a moisture-absorbing, not over-moistened substrate and well-lit areas.

Important! Hemlock has a number of popular names, these are: hemlock, poisonous umbrella, stinkhorn, omega, tar, mace, etc.

Plant composition

The medicinal properties of the hemlock herb are determined by the presence of alkaloids in its composition. The most toxic is horse meat. In addition to this, the composition includes:

  • coniceine;
  • methylkoniine;
  • conhydrin.

Most alkaloids are found in the fruits of the plant. There are approximately equal amounts of them in flowers and leaves. Interestingly, growing in different parts of the planet, hemlock can have different compositions. For example, plants grown in Scotland are almost completely devoid of the complex of alkaloids that are characteristic of crops that grow in Russia.

Hemlock has the following effects on the body:

  • anti-inflammatory;
  • painkiller;
  • antispasmodic;
  • hypotensive;
  • anticonvulsant;
  • antitumor;
  • soothing;
  • immunostimulating.

Dried hemlock raw material retains its medicinal properties for three years. After collection, it must be dried immediately - exposure to high temperatures gets rid of a small part of the poisons, but it is impossible to completely get rid of them. The raw materials are used to make infusions, decoctions, and tinctures. The beneficial properties of hemlock are revealed to the maximum in its inflorescences and leaves.

What is the danger of the plant?

The culture contains a large amount of toxic substances. The largest part of them are alkaloids. They have a paralytic effect and can retain their activity even in dry form, ending up in decoctions and infusions that are prepared for medicinal purposes.

Dried hemlock

Indeed, the plant is extremely dangerous, and inept handling of it can lead to resuscitation, therefore it is strictly forbidden to self-medicate. Before using any medicine based on this plant, you should consult a specialist who will tell you if you have any contraindications.

Indications for use

The use of hemlock herb is widespread in folk medicine. What are drugs based on it used for? Healers recommend using medicinal hemlocks for the following diseases and pathological conditions:

  • migraine;
  • epilepsy;
  • hypertension;
  • intestinal ulcer;
  • constipation;
  • tuberculosis;
  • hearing loss;
  • syphilis;
  • nocturnal involuntary ejaculation;
  • urinary retention;
  • obsessive cough;
  • menstrual irregularities.

For what diseases is hemlock used?

In the last century, there were attempts to use hemlock preparations in scientific medicine, but due to the dubiousness of the therapeutic effect, and there were also cases of poisoning, doctors abandoned hemlock as a medicine.

However, various parts of the plants still find use in folk medicine. Juice and tincture based on the aerial part - for chorea, stomach and intestinal colic, anemia, anuria, dysmenorrhea, syphilis. The leaves are used topically for gout and rheumatism. In folk medicine of Tajikistan, hemlock fruits are used to treat epilepsy, skin cancer, and cardiovascular diseases; as an analgesic, hemostatic.

Uses of hemlock

The hemlock herb is very toxic, and therefore its use in official medicine is limited. Until now, scientists continue research into the medicinal properties of the plant for cancer, but there are no official statistics on the effectiveness of therapy yet.

The use of hemlock herb for cancer is recommended by traditional healers in the form of alcohol tinctures. In addition, the plant is included in preparations for disease prevention.

Contraindications to hemlock

Before performing herbal medicine, it is important to consider contraindications. This will provide protection against side effects. The properties of the herb do not manifest themselves in the best way in the following cases:

  • anemia;
  • being in an exhausted state;
  • frequent changes in blood pressure;
  • individual intolerance;
  • heart failure;
  • kidney disease;
  • liver dysfunction.

Pain relieving tincture

To make it, a mixture of leaves and seeds is used. The tincture has, in addition to the analgesic effect, sedative, anticonvulsant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Mix equal parts of dried hemlock leaves and seeds. Pour two parts of the mixture with four parts of medical alcohol. Place in a dark place to infuse for fifteen days. Shake the bottle daily. Then strain the mixture. Take the tincture 1-2 drops per tablespoon (tablespoon) of water no more than three times a day.

Hemlock tincture: how to prepare

It is recommended to prepare hemlock tincture for the treatment of oncology only from fresh raw materials. Dried herb, according to well-known herbalists specializing in cancer, loses its properties within a few hours after collection.

To prepare the tincture, you will need medical alcohol or moonshine diluted to 50-60 degrees. Ordinary vodka will not work due to its insufficient strength.

So, in order:

  1. We take a three-liter jar, alcohol in a separate container and go into the forest in search of hemlock.
  2. Having chosen a suitable plant, we pick off the leaves and flowers (it is advisable to use protective gloves for collection).
  3. Grind the raw materials by hand and put them in a jar, filling it about 70%.
  4. Without wasting time, pour alcohol into the jar, seal it and take it to a dark place.
  5. The product should be infused for 3 weeks, shaking the contents daily.

Tincture for cancer

In some countries of the world (Austria, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Mexico), hemlock is also used in traditional medicine for the treatment of cancer. The poisonous plant is a natural analogue of chemotherapy, but with a milder and more selective effect. Coniine has a negative effect on cancer cells. In this case, the body does not self-destruct, but gradually gets used to the action of the poison. Healthy cells do not die, they adapt, and in the affected areas that are not capable of recovery, cancer cells are suppressed.

You need to know that hemlock herb tincture does not provide a 100% guarantee of healing from cancer. It works in complex treatment and gives results only with timely and correct use.

Hemlock tincture

Hemlock is one of the most successful remedies for treating and preventing cancer.

  • Hemlock can be used as an anesthetic for severe pain in cancer patients, as well as for pain of other, non-tumor origin; for renal, hepatic, intestinal colic, severe pain during menstruation, paroxysmal pain in the rectum.
  • For many sick people, hemlock also relieves ischemic attacks of pain in the heart.
  • Blood pressure (BP). In small doses with long-term use (2 drops three to four times a day for 2-3 months), hemlock significantly reduces blood pressure and can be recommended for patients with severe forms of hypertension. In hypertensive patients, it is possible to reduce doses or stop taking antihypertensive drugs.

It has also been established that in small doses (2 drops of tincture 3 times a day for 2-3 months), alcohol tincture increases blood pressure and relieves fatigue, so it can be used for hypotension, i.e. persistently low blood pressure.

  • Constipation. For chronic constipation, hemlock effectively loosens stool. Prescribed 10 drops per glass of water 2 times a day, in the morning on an empty stomach and in the evening before bed. Stools usually return to normal within a few weeks. In the future, if necessary, you can take 10 drops in the morning on an empty stomach.
  • Pollutions. With frequent nocturnal emissions, i.e. involuntary ejaculation in men, depleting the body and sometimes leading to sexual weakness, hemlock is prescribed in small doses of 2 drops per tablespoon of water 3-4 times a day. The course of treatment is 1-2 months. If such treatment is ineffective, you should take hemlock according to Tishchenko’s method, i.e. from 1 drop to 40 and down, 1-2 courses in a row (80-160 days)
  • Articular rheumatism, gout, bruises, erysipelas, systemic lupus erythematosus, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis. The best effect is observed when taking hemlock orally with local treatment: wrap hemlock leaves (preferably fresh, if not available, dried) in gauze, scald with boiling water and apply to sore, inflamed areas 3-4 times a day. In the absence of leaves, poultices are replaced by smearing with alcohol tincture 3-4 times a day. Course of treatment 1-2 months
  • Small doses of hemlock also help with headaches and migraines (if they are caused by vasospasm); during attacks, the dose can be increased once to 5 drops.
  • Haemorrhoids. You need to moisten a cotton swab with hemlock tincture, squeeze it lightly, and apply it to the appropriate place for 2-3 minutes (no more!). The pain disappears almost instantly, and in the morning the appearance of external hemorrhoids also decreases. Tested by many patients, there are practically no relapses.
  • Menstrual irregularities. If menstruation is delayed or stopped (not related to pregnancy), it is recommended to treat with small doses: 2 drops per tablespoon of water 3 times a day for one month, on the days of expected menstruation, increase the dose to 5 drops three times a day. If ineffective, it is necessary to carry out treatment according to Tishchenko’s method, i.e. from 1 drop to 40 and down, 1-2 courses in a row for 80-160 days.
  • As a sedative and anticonvulsant , as well as a powerful immunostimulant that activates and strengthens the body's defenses, it is therefore recommended to use it in the treatment and prevention of many diseases: weakened cardiac activity, dropsy, jaundice, persistent cough or convulsive cough, cataracts, sexual impotence, syphilis, gangrene, anemia, urinary retention, urinary incontinence, hysteria, whooping cough, rickets, hearing loss, bladder diseases, loss of strength, weakness of the body due to senile decrepitude, severe chronic diseases, flu, runny nose, epilepsy, bone diseases, stomach ulcers , tuberculosis, deafness, asthma, metabolic disorders, paralysis, delirium tremens, Parkinson's disease (shaking palsy), general exhaustion.
  • People suffering from benign tumors to prevent their malignant degeneration in case of:
  • Uterine fibroids. It is especially effective to combine oral administration of hemlock with douching: 50 ml of decoction of boron uterus or wintergreen + 5 drops of hemlock tincture.
  • Endometriosis, fibroids, body and cervical polyps, cysts, mastopathy.
  • Prostatitis and prostate adenoma. Take hemlock once a day according to the 1-40-1 scheme (Tishchenko’s method). When treating with hemlock, it is recommended to use phytopropolis suppositories once a night. A course of treatment includes 40 suppositories. Hemlock with propolis provides a lasting treatment effect and the ability to avoid surgery.
  • Polyps of the bladder , as well as the stomach, intestines, nasopharynx, and larynx.

External use:

For external localization of the disease (“bumps” and enlarged lymph nodes, nodular mastopathy, gangrene, elephantiasis, cramps, bone growths), joint and neurological pain (with neuritis, herpes zoster, osteochondrosis, arthritis and arthrosis). Use hemlock ointment, applying an even layer to the sore spot 1-2 times a day, cover with a linen or cotton bandage. Or rub hemlock tincture into sore spots.

protect themselves from cancer. As a prophylactic, i.e. preventing the development of cancer, it is recommended that all healthy people undergo 1 cycle of hemlock healing once a year according to Tishchenko’s method, i.e. from 1 drop to 40 and down to 1 (80 days). After such a course, almost everyone experiences a significant improvement in their overall well-being and increased vitality. This is especially necessary for those whose bodies are weakened (poor environment, poor nutrition, negative emotions, stress, past illnesses, heredity, etc.)

Method of taking hemlock according to Tishchenko (for the prevention and treatment of diseases)

When treating with hemlock in high doses (for any disease), every patient should be aware of the possibility of a sharp decrease in blood pressure and therefore blood pressure control is mandatory.

Tincture of hemlock should be taken once a day. In the morning on an empty stomach, an hour before meals, dissolve one drop of tincture in water and drink. Tomorrow, at the same time, dissolve 2 drops of tincture in water and drink again. And so, increasing one drop every day, reach 40 drops. Then start decreasing downwards, reducing one drop per day and in 40 days reach one drop. You have completed one cycle of treatment.

Hemlock is always taken with water, but you need to take into account its quantity - the more water, the softer the hemlock is perceived by the body:

up to 13 drops are dissolved in 100g. water;

from 13 to 26 drops are dissolved in 150g. water;

from 26 to 40 drops are dissolved in 200g. water.

Do the same when lowering, only in reverse order. Monitor your condition: at the first signs of discomfort (nausea, retching, dizziness, headache, weakness in the legs, itching in the mouth, drooling, rapid heartbeat), you should stop increasing the dose, immediately starting a gradual reduction to one drop, guided the method described above.

And do this for several (usually three) cycles until complete recovery. The break between cycles is a week.

When going through the next cycle, take into account the experience of the previous one, increasing the number of drops to the maximum permissible dose (this applies to those for whom discomfort and aversion to the tincture did not allow them to rise to 40 drops). On the days of taking hemlock, you can also be treated with other healing agents (mummy, clay, medicinal herbs, etc.), but only at different times of the day, so that the interval between them is at least 30 minutes

If the body is weakened or cancer relapses after surgery, you need to especially carefully monitor your condition, avoiding an overdose.

It is recommended to purify the water in which hemlock is grown (settle, filter, freeze and then thaw).

When curing with hemlock, consuming sour foods and sour drinks is not permissible.

PREPARATION METHOD: young shoots and inflorescences with leaves are infused in 40% alcohol, and green seeds in 70% alcohol (the dishes are filled with hemlock quite tightly right in the field and filled with alcohol). Everything is infused for 1 month, then all the tinctures are mixed. Tincture ratio (herb/alcohol) 15%

ATTENTION! One bottle of tincture is enough for 1 course according to the general scheme from 1 drop to 40 and back.

POISONOUS PLANT! Signs of overdose: headache, vomiting, salivation

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Not a medicine. Before use, consult your doctor. Hemlock is one of the most successful remedies for treating and preventing cancer.

Preparing the tincture

Only the apical inflorescences with young leaves should be collected. When going to collect raw materials, you need to take medical alcohol with you in a jar. The collected raw materials are immediately crushed and placed in a jar of alcohol in a ratio of two parts herb and one part alcohol. For example, two glasses of uncompacted fresh raw materials are poured with a glass of alcohol. Use only sharp scissors to chop hemlock. Do this quickly so that the volatile substances do not evaporate during processing. Use gloves when collecting and crushing raw materials. Don't forget that hemlock is a poisonous plant.

Having collected the required amount of raw materials, place the jar in a dark place inaccessible to children, where it will infuse for three weeks. Shake the tincture two to three times daily. After three weeks, the tincture must be carefully strained through several layers of gauze. The composition is poured into a jar or bottle made of dark glass. Store in a cool, dark place at room temperature.

Several years ago I fell ill with fibroids. The doctors prescribed medications, but they did not help me. In a very short time, I lost a lot of weight (I began to weigh 68 kg, having lost almost the same amount). I remember I only drank water, but I couldn’t eat anything at all (no matter what I eat, I’ll immediately throw it up). Probably because of all these nervous troubles, my legs were covered with non-healing ulcers. And then in 1998 I accidentally heard about hemlock.

I came to the doctor and said that I wanted to try being treated with hemlock tincture (a woman I knew, who said that her sister was cured of breast cancer with this remedy, gave me a jar of mayonnaise with that tincture for free). The doctor answered: “How do you think you’ll be cured if you’re getting worse every day?” In general, I didn’t get either a “no” or a “yes” from the doctor. But for myself, I have already made a choice. I understood the main thing that the tincture that they gave me would not be enough. Therefore, having learned the recipe for its preparation, I began to prepare hemlock tincture myself. I put hemlock flowers into a three-liter bottle, compacted them well, filled them with moonshine and pushed them into a dark place (under the bed) to infuse. After 18 days, I took out a bottle and strained this tincture through seven layers of cheesecloth. You had to drink the tincture from 1 to 40 drops, gradually increasing it one drop at a time (there should always be 110 g of water in the glass). I remember the first time I drank hemlock at work. That woman brought the tincture straight to work, asking: “Do you want to try it?” Just don’t be afraid, because I drink once a year and live. And my sister is alive. So I started drinking hemlock. First of all, I made myself a schedule. I completely gave up medications, alcohol (even beer). On those days when I didn’t feel well, I didn’t increase the norm, I drank at the same level that I reached, for example, for three days. Then she added a drop again, and when she felt poisoned, she reduced it. I remember when I reached 26 drops, I lost consciousness three times during the day at work. They poured water on me and swore: “Come on, you fool, you’ll poison yourself!” But I didn't listen to anyone. I drank hemlock tincture once a day in the morning on an empty stomach, half an hour before meals. On the seventh day, to my surprise, I ate half a loaf of bread, a kilo of tomatoes and 300 g of smoked sausage! I came to work and was very frightened by this (after all, I had hardly eaten anything for a long time, but here I had such an appetite!). But I immediately realized that since I’m not tearing, it means everything is normal. And after a few days I was already eating everything. Yes, before treatment with hemlock I took a blood test, and after finishing the treatment as well. It was a shock for me! For the first time in four years I saw 110 hemoglobin units. ...This happened in August-September-October 1999. My husband left me, went to his mother, and I was left alone with my sores and... hemlock. I repeated this treatment the next year. The wounds on the body and the tumors began to disappear little by little, and the face cleared up. I talked a lot with patients, with those who drink hemlock, often these were just strangers whom I had to meet somewhere. And I learned a lot for myself. And most importantly, I believed that I would be cured, and I also thanked God for giving me such a test. Last year, I planted three vegetable gardens alone (a total of 15 acres), weeded them myself, they only helped me dig (and I selected and sorted the potatoes myself). I even went to Truskavets for 24 days. And she withstood all this thanks to hemlock. Now I advised all my friends to drink hemlock, as I drank it, although most are afraid. At the monastery, the priest told me that I need to believe in recovery, get treatment and pray. Only then will the treatment be effective. At the moment, the tumors in the body have disappeared, the fibroids have disappeared and the blood composition has improved. Now I’m thinking about getting treatment next year (in the fall). In general, it is enough to treat with this method once a year. To live on... Sincerely - L.I. Divnich, 20000, Cherkasy region. Khristinovka, lane. Shmidta, 16/3
